W6TRW Swapmeet FAQ’s
Come
to the W6TRW Swapmeet Sales table located on the SE corner of the lot
which opens at 6:30 am the day of the Swapmeet. It is ALWAYS the LAST
SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH. There will be two (2) lines, one for space sales
and renewals, and the other for “day only*” space sales. There you
will be able to purchase one or more spaces. You will
be admitted at 7:00 promptly (*day
sales” are defined as one time only and not recurring, in other words,
not month to month)
You
may purchase one or more spaces, remember that the third (3rd)
and following spaces are $30.00 each.
Yes, the city of Redondo Beach requires our club to pay $5.00 for each space sold. The $5.00 would apply to the first space you purchase. If you were to purchase five (5) spaces, you would pay the $5.00 tax for the first (1st) space.
We
need to see a valid Amateur Radio License and another form of
picture identification. This is a must if you want to purchase a
space. An exception to a valid Amateur Radio License would be if you are
an active employee of Northrop Grumman.
Yes,
you can purchase a “permanent” space that you can rent monthly and pay
up to six (6) months in advance, so each month, you wouldn’t have to get
in line early in the morning.
No, you must come to the Swpameet the day of the event and purchase your space in person. Sellers with permanent spaces may mail in their renewal fees, but are still required to see the renewal table to fill out and pick up their new sellers permit. No renewed space permits will be mailed out.
As long as the purchaser of the space is present. Occasionally, the Swapmeet crew performs random checks of the space renters for valid sellers permits, and of the named individual on the permit. If it comes to the attention of the crew that a space owner is not present, he/she may be asked to leave if the crew believes the space has been “sub-leased” to someone who does qualify to purchase a space. PLEASE REFER TO THE “SWAPMEET RULES” FOR FURTHER INFORMATION
